teaInLondon: Hot Mulled Pear and Pixar

Standard, 7th December 2015, teo, 0 Comments

Monday 2 weeks ago, I considered myself very blessed and lucky to see Director and Animator Peter Sohn and Producer Denise Ream talk about pixar’s latest film, The Good Dinosaur.

I had known about The Good Dinosaur for awhile and it was always something I was quite interested in knowing what Pixar would do with a film about dinosaurs. When I no longer heard any news about the production of it I had imagined it was scrapped but to hear from Sohn that it was really a matter of back to the drawing board with the story.

I have to admit when turning up I wasn’t expecting a full house! Besides catching up with friends it was great to see that most were illustrators and animators. A real testament to how loved Pixar is across the world.

While the guests of the evening were ‘tardy for the party’, it was still pretty good to spend that time mingling with like-minded folk and also catch up with my friend who I had not seen in the longest time due to our busy schedules.

To sum up the talk was motivating and encouraging. It really was a boost of confidence to hear the direction that the film has now taken, and I am expecting it to be a testament to Pixar’s impeccable attention to detail and craftsmanship in great storytelling. Plenty was was learnt and one could only hope for maybe a week of workshops and portfolio reviews with them. You can catch the rest of the talk on the iTunes store.

After the talk, I went to Starbucks with my friend Sharifa for some seasonal winter warmers, the mulled pear was nice but didn’t have anything on Starbucks’s hot mulled apple.

I will be reviewing ‘The Good Dinosaur’ later this week and I wanted to use this post to announce teoblogs Christmas giveaway!
I will be giving away x1 The art of ‘The Good Dinosaur’ + a surprise treat. I will be posting more details on twitter and tumblr about the giveaway and sadly it is only open to residents within the UK.

Keep a look out for the posts and leave a comment here about what you thought about the Meet The Filmmakers event.
